Grilled Blackberry and Brie Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh Southern Selects blackberries
- 6-8 ounces of brie cheese, sliced
- 8 thick slices of multigrain or artisanal bread
- 10-12 leaves of fresh basil, julienned
Instructions
- Preheat an electric griddle or skillet over medium-low heat
- Crush blackberries in a bowl using a fork or potato masher
- Place several slices of cheese onto four slices of bread and place blackberry spread onto other four slices
- Sprinkle basil on the cheese, top with blackberry slices
- Brush or spray griddle/skillet with a small amount of cooking oil
- Cook until cheese begins to melt and bread is browned and then flip
- Continue cooking until second side is browned
- Place sandwich on plate, cut in half (diagonally) and serve
