Tempura French Beans with Spicy Sriracha Mayo Dip
Ingredients
- 8 oz Southern Selects French Beans
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups cold sparkling water
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
Spicy Dipping Sauce:
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients until mixed well, then whisk in the sparkling water. Do not overmix. Dip beans in batter, shaking off excess batter.
- Fry beans in vegetable oil at 375 degrees F temperature, in batches, for 2 to 3 minutes, turning as necessary, until golden and beans are tender crisp
- Transfer beans to a plate with paper towels to drain excess oil
- For the sauce, whisk all ingredients in a small bowl
- Serve beans with the sauce on the side
