Tempura French Beans with Spicy Sriracha Mayo Dip


  • 8 oz Southern Selects French Beans
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups cold sparkling water
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying


Spicy Dipping Sauce:

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Sriracha hot sauce

  1. Whisk together the dry ingredients until mixed well, then whisk in the sparkling water. Do not overmix. Dip beans in batter, shaking off excess batter.
  2. Fry beans in vegetable oil at 375 degrees F temperature, in batches, for 2 to 3 minutes, turning as necessary, until golden and beans are tender crisp
  3. Transfer beans to a plate with paper towels to drain excess oil
  4. For the sauce, whisk all ingredients in a small bowl
  5. Serve beans with the sauce on the side
